NW Vacations is a collaboration between two vacation rental management companies, Windermere Vacation Rentals in the Chelan area, and NW Island Escapes in the San Juan Islands. As the owners of these two companies, we believe these locations offer our guests the opportunity to experience the best of the Northwest. We call each of these places our home, and we love to share all of the exciting things to do and see here with our guests.
John and Mariah Dunning, are the owners of NW Island Escapes and we have personal connections to the San Juan Islands which run deep, dating back to our childhoods. We are not just owners but also passionate travelers, hikers, and water enthusiasts. Whether it’s in our kayak, boat, or on paddleboards, we are always exploring and discovering new aspects of these beautiful islands.
Keith and Katie Wells, are the co-owners of Windermere Vacation Rentals. We have been spending time with our family in the Lake Chelan area for many years. Our love of the lake, boating, golfing, skiing and enjoying all of the family-friendly activities that the Chelan area has to offer makes this one of our favorite places to spend time together.
Peter and Gayle Hickey, are the co-owners of Windermere Vacation Rentals. We were born and grew up in Seattle where we enjoy various outdoor activities, from biking to hiking, to cross-country skiing. We love the Northwest. Our passion for travel has taken us to many places in the world, yet we always look forward to returning and finding our next adventure right here in the Northwest.
What brought us all together? Each of our couples are owners real estate offices. We share a common philosophy of valuing our relationships with people and living by the principals we represent. NW Vacations is the culmination of all the skills and knowledge we jointly bring to our new organization. We are dedicated to providing each of our guests an outstanding vacation experience that is nothing short of exceptional, and our owners with consistent, high quality care for their homes.

Recently voted one of the world’s most exciting ferry rides and Washington State’s newest Scenic Byway, your trip through Puget Sound to the San Juan Islands promises beautiful views of mountains, forests and an intimate connection to the ocean and her inhabitants. Glimpses of Orca Whales, Harbor Seals, Porpoises, and Sea Lions are not uncommon. The driving tours take you through groves of rich green cedars and moss covered rocks with eagles soaring above. Moderate temperatures and very little rain during the summer months make the islands ideal for all kinds of activities such as bird watching, boating, fishing, kayaking and hiking. There’s no place more beautiful for recreation, relaxation and rejuvenation.
