You will feel like you’re living in a postcard when you stay at The Ferry Landing Suites! The Yakima Suite is a large loft located on the upper level of a landmark Victorian house, right in the heart of historic Friday Harbor. There is no accommodation more convenient for walking from the ferry landing or seaplane dock should you choose to leave the car behind on the mainland! But when you do bring the car, there is a coveted on-site parking space reserved just for you.

You will find all the attractions and activities that Friday Harbor has to offer within a short stroll, including whale watching excursions, kayak adventures, local shops, fine galleries, theater, and an eclectic selection of restaurants. As an added bonus, there’s a coffee shop on the lower level where you can sip your morning latte, enjoy fresh baked goods, or enjoy a fresh fruit smoothie. During the summer, perch up on your balcony above the bustling street to enjoying watching the ferries glide in and out of the harbor. During the fall and winter months, you will find the Yakima a wonderful place to snuggle up indoors and enjoy the quiet, reflective atmosphere cherished by the locals.

The Yakima Suite is beautifully furnished, featuring a queen size bed tucked into a romantic alcove with a skylight above so you can count the stars. The living area is spacious, offering a sleeper sofa, kitchenette, and dining table. When visiting the San Juan Islands, this is the perfect choice for one or more.

Interim cleaning is available on request. This unit is people friendly, and not pet friendly.

Quintessential Friday Harbor Experience

"If you’re looking for the quintessential Friday Harbor experience, this is the place to go. With unparalleled views of the ferry landing, we sat on our little deck and watched the ferries come and go. High end bedding, furniture and kitchen accouterments made the visit a true pleasure. I was worried about sounds from the bar next door, but they closed early and opened late. Having the bakery just below us was a real plus. There are about 30 steps that, as seniors, we found challenging but worth it.

"Beautiful studio with amazing views. It is located across the ferry building, overlooking the bay and within walking distance to restaurants, shops, etc. We really enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the ferries come and go. We would definitely stay there again.

"What a great little studio rental! Located in the heart of Friday Harbor within walking distance of lots of shops and restaurants. Nicely furnished and very clean. Best part was the amazing view out onto the harbor. We enjoyed sitting and watching the boats and ferries come and go as much as anything else we did! Would definitely recommend!

Amazing Stay

Loved my stay here! The view from the unit was amazing and the place is well appointed. The bed and pillows were comfy and I slept so well! There is even a mini fridge, microwave, hot plate, and a few dishes for basic meal prep. After several days of eating restaurant food on vacation, it was nice to have something simple and semi-home made! Right above a coffee shop for my AM fixed and right across the street from the whale watching tour offices. Couldnt have asked for a better stay!

Could not have asked for a better place to stay. Just at the end of the ferry dock over looking the marina. Very comfortable bed, kitchenette, Smart tv, desk overlooking the harbor. Warm and comfortable living area.
Two decks, one facing North the othe to the west. Weather was wintery and brisk but there were no drafts and electric "fireplace" and Forced heating kept us very cozy.
Only drawback to its location is if you are a light sleeper. It is located by the ferry dock so expect the early morning loading traffic noise. did not bother me as I sleep through anything, my Spouse is not. But worth the View.

The Friday Harbor Yakima Suite, a review by Jake Brigham

The Friday Harbor Yakima Suite was nothing less than a perfect reprieve from the monotony of working full time during a global pandemic while trying to cultivate an intimate and meaningful relationship with your partner. The quaint town offered the much needed relaxation, as well as the requisite adventure to make the trip one worth replicating at some point in the future. Our abode was nicely prepared and it embraced nicely our expectations of the view of the harbor as well as the unbeatable location. The living area was in fact more spacious than the pictures would lead one to initially believe. I can only hope others will experience the same satisfaction of staying at the Yakima Suite as my partner and I did. Cheers to the great Pacific Northwest, and it's subtle enjoyments.

Absolutely Perfect

We come to Friday Harbor every year for our anniversary. Many times we have looked at this unit from the rooftop bar next door and talked about how nice it would be to stay there. This was finally the year. The location, the view, the amenities. Everything about this place is perfect (with the exception of a tiny bar sink in the kitchenette, that is just dumb) We will stay here again and again.

So nice and cozy

We rented the top part of the home, that is a beautiful (fairly large) studio unit. Our relatives rented the lower two bedroom section of the home. Both apartments are amazing and both overlook the Washington State Ferry boats. There is a coffee shop below the apartments that is a little noisy in the early mornings but it really didn't bother us at all. Stay in either units. You will not regret it.

Beautiful Location

This is by far the best location you can find to stay at Friday Harbor. Beautiful views, right in the heart of Friday Harbor. The suite is clean and absolutely adorable. We loved everything about this place except the bed and pillows.
The bed is so uncomfortable we couldnt sleep well. The pillows are so flat and there are not enough of them. I really hope the management gets a new bed and bedding so we can come back and stay again. As much as I love this place the mattress is a deal breaker.

Very cute and accommodating room. The appliances were perfect for the space. LOVED the view for the ferry landing. Good people watching and car "shopping".

Yakima Suite Stay

Cleanliness and set up is great! All amenities were provided including kitchen utensils. Good security lights around the premises but lacking security cameras. One big concern that I had was the sensor lights: At night, It actively triggers only for guest coming up but trigger delay for downward traffic flow. It appeared that the sensor is partially blocked. This sensor delay had caused me to trip thus stepping on two rungs downward where almost lose my balance also triggering my vehicle fob in my hand. Additionally, I was expecting the rental home instructions and entry code at least a night prior but none arrived. An employee sent me the requested instructions and code 5 hours prior to and while en route to the island. The reservation wa apologetic for the inconvenience. I would rate our stay as 3 of 5 stars.

Relaxing Stay Near Eveyrthing

We loved our stay in the Yakima Suite. The location to everything in the city allowed us to park our car for the majority of the trip and walk to the resturaunts and tours. Sitting on the balcony each night and watching the ferries come and go make for a relaxing night. While it was very convientent to be able to walk to everything in town, it is a short drive to everything on the island. Take a trip to Lime Kiln State park, its beautiful. We loved or stay and are already planning our next trip

Yakima Suite Weekend

Would unequivocally recommend this unit. Great location, centrally located, walk to everything in Friday Harbor, and stunning views of the harbor. My only quibble would be that it can at times be a little noisy given that it is right on the harbor but this was my third visit so I personally don't find the occasional noise at all problematic.

Cozy little suite

2 of my family members and myself stayed in the this cozy little suite overlooking the marina. It has a fabulous view, had 2 nice little balconies to sit and take in the great view or we would just sit with the double doors open and enjoy the view from inside. We were very comfortable here and pleased with the location, everything in walking distance. We really loved going to the coffee shop on the bottom floor every morning. We were a little concerned when we saw the outside balconies and bar right next door, but there is a 10pm quiet time policy in the town that everyone is very compliant about, so it wasn't a problem at all. All of our tours we went on were literally right across the street, just walked right over. We had our own parking space which was wonderful. Overall we couldn't have ask for a better experience on our 1st visit to the San Juan Islands. Would definitely stay here again and hope to some day soon!!!

A Room With A View

We loved staying in the Yakima Suite overlooking the hustle and bustle of summer life in Friday Harbor. We enjoyed the birds eye view of ferries bringing excited visitors to the island. The studio is absolutely perfect for the 2 of us with a well thought out kitchen space. The unit is adorable and well decorated. The bed is comfortable and there is plenty of seating. The management company was extremely accommodating with great communication. We will definitely be back to this little piece of paradise.

Picture Perfect!

Both apartments are in the picture perfect spot to look out the windows for a sweeping panorama of the bay. The place was spotless and well kept. When we had a question they were right there to help us. It is easy access to the ferry, downtown food and shops or base for further exploring. We have stayed there twice and will surely stay there again. It is lovely!

We love this condo! We have been coming here for years and the view is incredible, as well as having a coffee shop just down stairs.
The cons are that the bed is hard as a roc. I slept on the couch with my daughter because the bed hurt my back so bad. And the floors are dirty. Our socks are filthy in minutes, this time we brought our slippers so we didnt ruin our socks.

Excellent location in Friday Harbor

The Yakima suite was located on the third floor of a building just opposite the ferry landing. The room had amazing views of the whole harbor. When sitting on the couch you could watch TV, the harbor itself and the coming and goings of the ferry. The room was clean and comfortable, with quality bath products provided. The kitchen had a small fridge, toaster oven, coffee pot and any kitchen ware you may need. The bottom floor is a coffee shop with excellent pastries that we visited each morning. My husband and I loved the Yakima Suite from first sight and enjoyed our time there. It is on the third floor reached by stairs only. There is noise from the cars and trucks as they line up for the ferry across the street. Although this location meant we could get our car in line early and go back to the room to wait for boarding in comfort. We will definitely use this place in the future.
