Roche Harbor Overlook is on a coveted lofty perch above the glistening Roche Harbor marina, yet just a short stroll to nearby Resort amenities - whale watching, kayaking, restaurants, expresso bar, shops, grocery, artist kiosks, hiking trails, biking, and moped rentals. This contemporary residence offers a desirable 4 bedrooms, 4.5 bath configuration and a quality of furnishing rarely found in rental homes.

A path through a lovely fenced garden leads to the entry of this three-level residence, with harbor views at each level. On the main level, you will find a sophisticated great room furnished with contemporary and Asian furniture, art and antiques. The effect is artful and posh, with seating arranged before a fireplace and 60" UHD TV. A dining table with seating for eight is in one corner of this space, the kitchen is in another.

The great room opens onto a deck with a “wow” view of the harbor below, with fire pit dining table, retractable sun awning, lounge chairs, and Weber gas grill. You can watch the sun set over Roche Harbor, enjoy the famous colors ceremony and hear chapel bells from the deck, adding to the magic of your vacation.

The kitchen offers granite counter tops, a new induction stove, and an island with bar seating for two. Chefs will appreciate the induction stove, Sub-Zero refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, double ovens, and large pantry.

The main level has the master bedroom suite with king bed and a terrific view. Limestone counters and tile accent the master bath with soaking tub, separate shower, two sinks, and large closet. A powder room is on the main level as well.

On the upper level, an office loft with desk and sofa looks down into the great room. There is also a second bedroom on this level, with a queen size bed and en-suite bath with shower.

The lower level offers an expanse of covered deck, marvelous views, and a cozy den with large HDTV, game table, and wet bar. A third bedroom has a comfy king bed and en-suite bath with shower located just off the den. On the other side of the den is a fourth bedroom that offers a queen bed. An adjacent fourth bath with tub/shower combination serves this bedroom. The laundry room is also nearby. If 9 or 10 guests are accepted, a queen size aero bed is provided.

Roche Harbor Overlook is equipped with high-speed Internet/wifi (up to 60 MBS), Dish satellite with DVR and HBO, Blue Ray player, and central air-conditioning.

Whether your “Island Time” preference is relaxation or adventure outings, the Overlook is a superb choice. By all standards of location, view, space, comfort, and style, Roche Harbor Overlook is an extraordinary vacation home!

"First impression - spacious, beautifully appointed, outstanding view of the harbor, exceptionally clean 2nd/3rd night. - kitchen was a little tight for 10 adults, outdoor table/fireplace guarded the cool evenings we requested more bath towels and propane for the fireplace which were delivered the next day, we enjoyed listening to the harbor music from afar and our family reunion was fun filled. Last impression - a lovely place for a family reunion, great location, very nice home that I myself would not rent out....

Beautiful vacation home perfectly located walking distance to Roche Harbor with lovely views of the Marina! Our family had an amazing week relaxing and enjoying this spacious and comfortable home. Location was perfect for privacy yet easy to walk to Roche Harbor. The weather was terrific and we spent a lot of time on the deck just enjoying the views and visiting with our family. The owner must be a gourmet cook who loves Asian art. Our first experience cooking on an induction stove. The house was clean and management responsive to our questions. The upstairs loft bedroom and bath have no heat or air vents and no light in the shower. The downstairs bedrooms needed the fans and space heaters that were provided. Lots of light and great view of the harbor from the deck. Great location. Several steps to get in and out of the house.

Perfect House, Perfect Location

My family (10 of us) spent four nights here. We had a wonderful time.
The house and its location were perfect. Enough space for everyone to be comfortable and communal spaces were ideal for spending quality time together. This house is gorgeous! We spent as much time as we could sitting on the back deck at the table with the fire, looking at the water and listening to the birds. We really enjoyed staying in Roche Harbor as it is very easy to get everywhere else on the island and not as busy as Friday Harbor.

Spectacular

The house was perfect. The best home we have ever rented. The marina below was beautiful and very quiet so we enjoyed our time on both decks. Great grown up Get-a-Away

Three other couples joined us for a fantastic week at this spacious home that has an outstanding view from 3 of 4 bedrooms and the main living space . Every room had its own bathroom and large comfy bed. We are all experienced cooks and enjoyed preparing meals in the gourmet kitchen. Our only complaint was the well stocked kitchen was very disorganized so it was a trick to find a pan and matching lid. Every imaginable kitchen tool was available- you just had to find it.

Checks Every Box

Our family of ten (5 adults, 2 college students, 3 young grandsons) all rated this Roche Harbor hideaway 10+. The home was perfectly designed for us. Plenty of enjoyable space inside and two spectacular decks with views of the harbor. We could allow the youngset grandsons to take off on their own to play soccer, to grab some donuts and even eat breakfast in the cafe. Of course, the rest of us quickly discovered the two watering holes just down the hill. We had the best family 4th of July ever participating in the field activities and the log rolling competition. Did I mention the well equipped kitchen? All in all a dream vacation.

Perfect Home for a large Group

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Roche Harbor Overlook home last weekend for my wife's 40th BD. The home is large and very well appointed. With rain on two of the days of our stay, there was plenty of room for everyone to stay in side and mingle. The outside deck was great with a large table & a propane fire in the middle. The walk down to the resort was only 5 minutes & the view is spectacular. Would highly recommend this property.

A beautiful Vacation Home

My family had a fantastic stay on San Juan Island in your lovely rental home. The location and the views were perfect, the decor and the layout of this home were such high quality and yet so cozy. It's definitely one of the nicest on the islands that we saw. Given how late it stays light in the summer, my only complaint was that there were no shades in some bedrooms and where there were shades, they didnt provide much darkness, so between the bright light and the loud partying on Roche Harbor between 9pm and 10pm, it is quite difficult to put children to bed there much before 10pm. And when it's cold, the heat doesnt seem to reach the downstairs bedrooms very well...other than those small issues, the home is gorgeous and we enjoyed our stay completely.

Absolutely Perfect

We had an absolutely wonderful family vacation staying at the Roche Harbor Overlook! The home is wonderfully decorated and has any amenity you could need. We had 4 couples and 2 kids. We really appreciated having 4 proper adult private sleeping rooms (each with a King or Queen bed) and bath in or near each room, and had the kids sleep on a blow up mattress that was available for use in the house! The kitchen is huge, fully stocked, and great for many cooks in the kitchen!

We chose to eat in more often because of the wonderful kitchen, quality BBQ, large interior dining table that fits all, and the lovely fire table on the deck.

The deck!!!! This home has a large wonderful deck with a fabulous view of the harbor. We all enjoyed sitting on the deck anytime of the day and hearing the flag ceremony music while enjoying a glass of wine around the fire table was a special experience.

The location was great as you can easily walk to the Harbor, there are also many interesting parks etc. to explore along the way! Our entire family would highly recommend this home, we sure hope to return someday!!!

When we arrived at the house it was very clean and ready for our stay. The bedrooms had great views, well, all the rooms had great views. We probably used the decks more than anything with their comfortable furniture to the great weather during our stay. It was also nice to listen to the music from the marina at 9 am, noon and evening. There was plenty storage in the refrigerator for each couples supplies. We visited all the local island sites including the alpaca farm, lavender farm, sculpture Park and the English camp. The sculpture park is an easy walk and was even more impressive than we thought it would be. The Roche Harbor marina is a easy drive or walk from the property and has great restaurants and the evening lowering of the flags is a wonderful event to watch. This is a beautiful and comfortable home. I hope we get a chance to come back again.

Wonderful Home Overlooking Roche Harbor

We could not have been more pleased or more pleasantly surprised with the Roche Harbor home. Beautiful home with a beautiful view that provided family time as well as separated time for my husband and me and 5 adult children. Conveniently located about a 7 minute walk away from Roche Harbor, the house was perfectly located for our purposes...running trails were accessible, kayaking, walking the hills of the harbor town, access to several restaurants, 15 minute drive to Friday Harbor. The kitchen was perfect size for the many cooks and the deck with the large table with firepit was a great way to spend a relaxing evening. We had all the conveniences of home with a washer/dryer accessible, large screen TVs, grill, etc. Sometimes the internet was sporadic, but could be easily fixed. It was wonderful...we all hated to leave!

Thank you San Juan Vacation Rentals! What a memorable vacation...The property was perfect and enjoyed immensely by our 3 generations of family. From the beginning, planning the rental logistics w/Vacation Rentals was seamless. The location provided ample space for group activities as well quiet time to read and such. With the spacious main floor, every meal was prepared and enjoyed by all. Cooking and BBQ'ing was an adventure. Close Proximity to Roche and Friday Harbor allowed for casual excursions and whale watching. Hiking along the many trails was a delight, which did not seem to bother the deer and their babies. We can not wait to get back to #196!

Fantastic Setting for a Vacation

This was truly a great place to have a vacation. Everything worked like clockwork, with absolutely no issues with checking in and all essentials were there and the house was in great shape. The cleaning crew did a phenomenal job. The bedrooms, kitchen, and bathrooms were all up to snuff. The pictures cannot do justice (although they come close) to just how immaculate the setting and the view is. Whether sitting inside at the kitchen table or the sitting room, or more often on the back deck, we were continually wowed by where we were. It was also a perfect walk down to the Harbor which had everything we needed - nice restaurant, shops, kayaking, whale watching, bike and moped rentals, food shopping, and even a fresh seafood stand at one of the docks. Everything we needed for a perfect vacation.

The house was beautiful, clean and spacious. Eight adults and one child fit perfectly. The kitchen was so big, four people could easily cook together. Great outdoor grill. The views were amazing. I would recommend this house to anyone wanting a big, beautiful vacation rental close to Roche Harbor.
