The complete rebuilding of this charming home is finally done and ready for your occupancy. Three bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms provide wonderful waterfront views and a water-side deck to die for. Two stories and 2,223 sq. ft. of charm and luxury. Go straight to the pictures for this listing and you will see one of the most unusual homes in the San Juan islands.

This home boasts a fully fitted out chef's kitchen with large gas range and a French door stainless refrigerator. Unusual items include an espresso machine, counter seating to watch the chef at work. Dishwasher, cozy casual dining seating area and for those more formal dinners, seating for eight. There is also a 8 place picnic table on the deck for outdoor dining.

The downstairs master bedroom features one of the most wonderful king beds we've seen. Check out the photos of the four-poster bed with its luxurious new mattress. This room says it all about the charm of Juniper House. The master has its own ensuite bathroom adjacent.

Upstairs are two more bedrooms, one with a comfortable queen bed and another with a queen and two singles for families. There is a shared bathroom between these two upstairs bedrooms. This home also has a queen aerobed that can be set up in the living room or one of the upstairs bedrooms to accommodate 9 guests.

The complete rebuild of this home was done using much of the original woodwork and shows the beauty of old wood. Nobody will be disappointed with Juniper House.

Wonderful City Escape

"We spent the Thanksgiving holiday in this home and and had a wonderful stay. There were 5 adults and 2 children in our party and there was ample space. The pictures are very accurate and the water views from the home are stunning. The bedrooms are very large and the beds are very comfortable (although the pillows were a little soft for my liking). We cooked Thanksgiving meal at the house and the appliances all worked well and the kitchen was well stocked. The home is very conveniently located close to Eastsound- adults are able to walk there so long as you don't mind walking a short distance on a main busy road- its really not suitable for young children though to walk to town. The house is nicely renovated but still retains some of the rustic charm- with that said the stairs do creak when going up and down and sound travels easily through the home- I note this in case you are traveling with young children who need to nap. We solved the issue but turning on the box fans supplied in the home to help drown out the noise and it worked well. The staff at NW Vacations was responsive and easy to work with- even accommodating an early check in and late check out for us. We would absolutely stay here again!

Great Family Get Away

"The Juniper house exceeded our expectations in every way. It easily accommodated our family of five. The location is spectacular, just minutes from East Sound and water views from nearly every room. Kitchen is well-stocked and the home is beautifully renovated Beds are very comfortable. The living room and back deck were our favorite places to gather with our children. We have stayed on Orcas Island several times and this is our new favorite place.

"It is always a challenge choosing a place to stay while on vacation, at least it is for me/us. We don't get away all that often so spend a good amount of time researching so there are as few surprises as possible. When we arrived at Juniper House, nothing could have prepared us for how remarkable it is or, for the truly majestic setting which is otherworldly. It takes your breath away. Then there is Juniper House itself, clearly a labor of love and a measure of superb taste and attention to detail. Doubtlessly very old, great care having been taken to preserve the original elements, like the beautiful wood floors while also making it work for guests today. The kitchen is superb with nothing missing if you're are an accomplished chef or a family cooking together, everything is there, though you might pack some spices for special dishes. As you can see in the pictures, the main living space is quite open with lovely furnishings and art, a place we spent most of our time, from dawn to dusk, watching the magnificent view changing throughout the day and basking in the calm. The bedrooms are large and all have "the view" and supremely comfortable beds and bedding. Bathrooms are similarly excellent with top quality soaps and shampoos and the thickest white towels imaginable. Everything spotless. This could go on and on, suffice it to say there is something profoundly special about Juniper House and we are grateful to have had the opportunity to experience it. There is no doubt we will return for a longer stay.

Loved our stay!!

We had the best time on our family vacation at the Juniper house. The breathtaking view we woke to each morning and we enjoyed it through the day and evening when the stars came out. The lapping of the tide on the rocky shore was so pleasant to listen to as you fell asleep or enjoyed in the quietness of the morning.We had a family of 8 which included a 2 year old and 7 week old. Trips to Moran State Park and visiting the views at Mt. Constitution were a short drive away. Also enjoyed Cascade lake for kayaking and paddle boarding. The water was Beautiful. The downtown area was close and could be walking distance and has a great selection of shops and restaurants as well as a wonderful grocery store .The House is quiet for relaxing with a book, early morning yoga on the nice Treks type deck, napping, meal time etc. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking needs. Beds I. Each room were VERY comfortable as well as the pillows. The house felt very clean too.We would definitely love to come back again. I would mention that with a toddler age a family may want to pack their baby gate along due to the stairway . Also as with any real young children its necessary to keep a close watch on them when outside on the deck as it is open at each of the ends where an un observed little one can take off really fast to a dangerous rocky area. Lovely and Relaxing

Our family had a wonderful, relaxing getaway at Juniper House. Plenty of space for 4 adults and 4 kids. The waterfront is rocky but the kids loved playing on the boulders. The house is in great shape with updated bathrooms and kitchen. 5 stars!

Perfect for 50th anniversary celebration for 3 Oregon families

We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary here with kids and grandkids. 9 total people. The house was very clean, very welcoming, and provided for our every need. We thoroughly enjoyed sharing meals, playing board games, just relaxing and enjoying the ambiance of this lovely home with its beautiful view no matter what time of day. We enjoyed the very comfortable deck with its updated furniture for outdoor relaxing and eating some meals. The younger set enjoyed exploring on the beach and launching their stand up boards for a quiet paddle around the lovely cove. Enjoyed the fish jumping and watching seals right off the shore.

Great Reunion

We are a group of retired naval personnel that met in the Aleutian Islands in 1971. We have been meeting on and off since then. We chose to stay in houses this year so we could cook and share meals together. I must say it met and exceeded our expectations. Delightful. The only comment I would make is the driveway is challenging. If people have mobility issues it could be a challenge. The house is amazing. So comfortable. You feel like you are at home. You have everything you need to cook. We ate breakfast at home and made soup and salad for dinners. It worked out so well. The view is beautiful. We fell in love with
the San Juan Islands and the people. So welcoming.

What a lovely place to spend a long weekend with some old friends! The house was in great condition and we arrived to a perfectly clean property. Paradise Found

We had a lovely 10 day stay. From the deck we watched otters on the rocks, seals play in the sound, and the full moon travel across the sky. We were lucky enough to visit during the meteor showers and viewed them in the evenings. The location is central and yet very private.

Great Home on the Water

Very nice,clean home.Walking distance to Eastsound,a very quaint cute town.A very good location for exploring the island.What could be better?Kayaks maybe for getting on the water.Salt&pepper in the kitchen.Add in notes whether water is drinking safe, as I noticed a bit of chlorine smell so used bottled.

wonderful trip

We had a wonderful time at this home located in a perfect spot in the bay, overlooking much of the island and water. It had 3 bedrooms and was able to house both us and our two children and their families. Our family enjoyed watching bald eagles, sea lions, kayaking and crabbing. It was also only about 1/2 mile from town. We'd love to go back there some time.

Wonderful home for our family of 6. The kiddos loved that there were books, puzzles, and games. The kitchen was great to cook in - just be sure to bring your own supplies, as there was only salt and pepper. The house was very clean and the beds very comfortable. Would stay here again!

A+ from soup to nuts!

What a pleasant experience this was from first encounters to the finish line. Correspondence was returned in a timely pleasant manner and trouble shooting details were optimized for us as guests. The most delicious delight was just walking into this recently remodeled family home and seeing how special it was. It is better than the pictures because it is hard to capture that view. The loons and jellyfish entertained us. We were all tickled pink that we could be so lucky to get to experience this special home. Thank you for sharing Juniper House with us. Our hearts are full of gratitude.

Oktoberfest on Orcas

Highly recommend Juniper House for it's convenient location, island cabin character, modern updates, cozy comfort, fabulous kitchen, and absolutely stunning southerly views down East Sound. Master bedroom and its 3/4 bath are an oasis. Walking distance to Eastsound, albeit with a short distance along the main road without much shoulder. Steep narrow rock driveway, but its short and easy work for all the Subaru Outbacks out there. It was fun in a Ram truck. Large private deck with more commanding views. Water access is a scramble so be careful. Inspired by the kitchen we used it exclusively and unfortunately cannot give any restaurant reviews. Great base for exploring the island we visited beautiful Moran State Park, Rosario, Olga, West Beach, but the house was always a welcome return. NW Island Escapes folks were very helpful, professional, and great all the way around!
