Just a convenient mile from the ferry landing, this dramatic contemporary home offers wonderful end-of-the-road privacy. Almost every room of this wonderful vacation home on Orcas Island offers spectacular views across West Sound, Shaw Island, and Wasp Passage. The sunsets will take your breath away. This is a spacious, high bank waterfront home, with a fabulous patio and deck stretching across the western side. It is a great space for watching summer boat traffic travel up West Sound to the marina.

A windowed foyer highlights the entry, as does a grand piano. There is a large living/dining room with an open hearth rock fireplace and floor to ceiling windows that bring the outside in. High ceilings and clerestory windows add wonderful volume to the dramatic architecture of the rooms.

There is plenty of space for entertaining in this home. The large kitchen has a great layout with high end appliances and cookware, and it adjoins a family room with another rock fireplace and a breakfast/game table. There is also a back entrance mudroom/laundry and convenience bath.

You will go up a half flight of stairs to the master bedroom with a king bed and luxurious chocolate marble bath with a view. In addition, there is an exit to a private balcony with spiral staircase down to the hot tub on the deck below. Down another half flight of stairs from the main level is a guest bedroom with queen bed as well as a third bedroom that offers twin beds. Both lower level bedrooms also have doors to the deck and hot tub. (Great News! The hot tub is now available April 15th - October 15th!)

The ferry dock is located at Orcas Landing, just one mile away, where you will find a small grocery, post office, and restaurants plus shops. Venture up the road in the opposite direction for about 15 minutes and you will find the village of Eastsound with its fine dining, theater, and shopping.

Amazing stay!

"We had an absolutely amazing stay at Isle of Sky!! The view is gorgeous. The house is fantastic. Tons of room for a family of 5 to spread out and enjoy being together, but also have a little space to read quietly or work. Great kitchen with everything you need and then some! Lovely dishes, glasses, stems. Plenty of room to cook some delicious dishes. You feel like you are the only ones on the island when you are at this beautiful home. Decks were great to watch the sun set, although we did have a handful of yellow jackets wanting to spend time, too. The beds were very comfortable with great pillows! Very nice towels. We really enjoyed our visit!! Thank you for sharing your home!

Fantastic property

This property is amazing!! It was exactly how it was described and the pictures showed. Maybe even more beautiful!! We loved our short time there and hope to visit again. My favorite was sitting on the deck drinking coffee every morning watching the water. The sunsets were breathtaking! And the stars at night...... just beautiful. I have never cooked in a kitchen so well stocked! Every convenience I could ask for. Isle of Skye - you did not disappoint and we will be back!!!

Fantastic views and location

This listing is incredible. It is a wonderfully designed space with lots of room and gorgeous views from every spot in the home, so great that you dont even need to go out! We absolutely loved our stay. The hot tub was amazing and the kitchen had everything for gourmet cooking and entertainment. Loved the baby grand and they had lots of great books and games for entertainment. The location was close to the ferry and very convenient but also the home was secluded and private. Just adored our stay and hope to return. Truly a slice of heaven. You will love it.

Beautiful well appointed home

We enjoyed our stay here. Two couples, no children. The kitchen was especially well appointed, which is important in the age of Covid! The view was amazing and the house has many cozy places to be. There is a telescope for star gazing, and a nice hot tub. My only complaint is that the Queen mattress in the secondary bedroom is completely shot. Not getting comfortable sleep on a vacation is a bummer. Don't lose the coin flip for the amazing master suite!

Everything was just superb, super clean, gorgeous views and stocked with literally everything an avid cook and/or coctail sipper could possibly need. Outstanding views

The house needs a deep clean and the beds in the basement of the house are extremely uncomfortable. The living room is gorgeous with a comfortable couch. There were plenty of cooking utensils and dishes. But the kitchen cupboards and drawers need to be cleaned. The hot tub seemed brand new and was one of the highlights of the trip. The deck spans the entire property and was wonderful and even had flowers. The views were worth coming back after new mattress and a cleaning.

Hidden Gem with Incredible Views

An absolutely wonderful long weekend! House was well-equipped and very clean. Setting is very private and quiet with incredible views. We saw deer, bald eagles and a ton of other bird life too. Master suite has a bank of windows so you wake to a stunning view. Hot tub was a delight to watch the sunsets. We hope to return soon!

Beyond all expectations!

Spent the most incredible week at this home. The pictures dont do this house justice: its a slice of heaven on earth. The house is beautifully appointed with picturesque views of the water. We enjoyed leisurely meals on the patio and loved watching the stars from the hot tub. Great opportunity to connect three generations together for some quality family time. We would like to make this an annual trip.

Isle of skye retreat

We had a great time! We were 3 couples and the house was full of space to read a book or congregate for games & meals. The house is set back from the road, we never heard a car go by and the view over the sound made for great sunsets. The kitchen is definitely set up for any gourmet cook to feel at home. The only thing that wouldve made it better was if one of us played the piano!

Misty Isle

Rain and mist did not lessen our enjoyment of Isle of Skye and Orcas Island. The waterfront view was beautiful with mist and rain. The House was perfect with all the amenities. The weather did not deter us from hiking to Cascade waterfalls and to the turtleback mountain top. A very enjoyable 3 nights stay.

WE LOVED our house and getaway weekend - amazing views! The only issues we had was there are many of the electrical outlets in the master bedroom that are not working - the ONLY plug in the master bath does not work and then others throughout the house

The house is well-appointed with kitchen equipment. Iggy cleaning was immaculate and everything was in great shape. We enjoyed watching the birds and a pod of whales offshore. the garage made a very good watercolor painting studio with a fantastic view. This garage has the best view of any garage I have seen.

Panoramic views

This property provides a quiet oasis. It has views from every room in the house. The house decor is peaceful. The shower doors in the master suite are almost impossible to slide, they need attention. Otherwise, all was good.

Ideal location

Isle of Sky was *very* conveniently located near the Orcas Ferry landing which made it an ideal location for our group as we did some island hopping. This being said, it was at the end of a dirt road surrounded by forest which gave it the seclusion we sought.

The exterior landscaping was well maintained. Lots of deer and birds could be seen each day. The property has amazing views of West Sound, Shaw and Bell Island, from the deck (and virtually every room). The architect clearly made use of the views which are in nearly every room. Spectacular sunsets; great views of the fishermen and boaters.

The house was a bit dated in terms of some of the appliances (the stove), but updated in others (washer/dryer). Our group cooked or barbecued most of our meals and the kitchen was well equipped with an enormous variety of dishes, which was fantastic. The stainless steel pans were great, but since no dish soap (only dishwasher tablets) was provided by the management company, we ended up purchasing some dish soap. I'm hard-pressed to say anything bad about this property. There were a few minor inconveniences, the Teflon pans looked as though they should be replaced, but not an issue as we used the stainless steel ones. The kitchen sponge provided was of poor quality, so purchased a new "name brand" sponge which fixed the problem. The notebook of instructions clearly needs updating.

Aside from these minor inconveniences, we would DEFINITELY rent this house again.

Beautiful Home

Relax and enjoy

We explored and hiked beautiful Orcas Island. What a wonderful home base to return to. This totally clean and perfectly outfitted home sits at the top of a cliff which descends to the ocean below, breathtaking!

Orcas Island Getaway

This house is really spectacular. So much indoor and outdoor space! And everything was beautiful. The only critique that I can think of is that the water pressure was really, really low. There were many showers, but in all but the master bathroom, we could not get more than a trickle to come out of the shower head. However, that did not get in the way of our enjoying this house a great deal. We would absolutely come again!

We visited in early June with our three young adult children. The house was amazing with spectacular views from every room. It was even nicer than in the pictures. The house was 5 minutes from the ferry, but peaceful and secluded. We wanted to cook at home and the house was equipped with EVERYTHING you could possibly require. There were also many nice extra touches such as beach towels by each of the bedroom doors for use on the decks or spa. The management company was also great and promptly responded to my emails prior to the trip.

Gorgeous views from a spacious, lovely home.

The house has soaring ceilings, fantastic views of the water, and a well stocked kitchen. The master bedroom is huge with a very comfortable bed. There are games, books, music, and helpful instructions from the owners. The location is minutes from the ferry, but quiet and secluded.

Christmas on Orcas Island

We absolutely loved our house on Orcas! Plenty of room for our family of six. The view was spectacular! Loved having deer roaming around to greet us! I always love the cozy factor of having a fire going...and this house has two fireplaces. =)

spectacular setting

the house sits high and overlooks the water with wrap around decks. the setting could not be improved. the house is large and comfortable with many amenities and comforts. A beautiful place to enjoy nature. it is approx. one mile from the ferry landing and about 15 minutes from the town of Eastsound.
