Response from Northwest Vacations:
Thank you for staying with us we are very happy you had a wonderful time on your stay and please come and stay with us again.
We stayed at this property several years ago and came back for two weeks this time. The house has been maintained in excellent condition over the years, and the kitchen and bath have been upgraded. The king-size bed in the master bedroom is very comfortable and it has a great shower. Nice view from the large deck. The house is not large, but it's perfect for a couple, and there is a sleeper sofa for one more couple plus two twin beds in a cute little alcove that will make two children feel safe and happy.
We arrived on a blustery day and the electricity went out for a couple hours in the neighborhood due to the storm. Fortunately the gas fireplace still worked and heated the place up pretty consistently. We were also able to use the gas stovetop to make our dinner that evening. The views were wonderful of the Sound all times of day and in all weather conditions. Fortunately, we had mostly sunny clear skies for the rest of our 5-night trip and the wind died down for a couple days. This house has all the necessities for a great stay. The kitchen is well-stocked with dishes and cookware, and I liked that it didn't have a bunch of food items in the cupboards or partially used condiments in the refrigerator. This place is also very nice for its proximity to Moran State Park. It is very easy to get to all of our favorite places.
Very much enjoyed our stay! Nice being on Orcas off season but that did mean there were a couple things that were closed yet. We'd left some notes about a few things in the house that Arlitta (spelling?) knows about as she'd stopped by to assist with the TV media set up. One other item, as we'd driven from Portland in our electric car, I'd like to offer an idea you might consider for your website and other island information. It is fair to assume that you'll be seeing renters arriving more and more by EV's and to highlight things that may help them understand that your rentals would offer Information and possibly charging opportunities could well help persuade them to choose your homes. Briefly, 1) make information available about Orcas Island public EV charging sites, eg Orcas Island Market / Island E Cars / Odd Fellows Hall. 2) Suggest availability of using the rental home's 110V outlet to charge overnight. Cost of electricity is quite inexpensive and probably very adequate for island driving purposes. 3) Use whatever influence your company has with your home owners / city's / county government to help promote EV owners to visit Orcas Island (and San Juan Island). The island already seems to have a significant number of EV's driving around (likely year round residents), and I suspect you will be seeing a growing number of mainland visitors showing up with their electric cars. Thanks again for the lovely home and we look forward to our next visit.
The home looked even better than the photos, which is sometimes rare when booking on-line. The views of the water from the livingroom, diningroom, and deck were fabulous. The home was very cozy, with the gas fireplace, and was furnished very well. The kitchen was well appointed and easy for meal preparation. Even though it was chilly and rainy, we bundled up and enjoyed the view from the deck. We are planning on returning to this home in Spring. Thanks for sharing it with us.
We had a wonderful stay. Great location and the place was super cozy.
The view from Island Myth was unbelievable and the location was perfect, a short walk to Rosario Resort. We would absolutely love to stay there again.
We LOVED this house. It was so clean, well stocked, and well maintained. The customer service was excellent. The beds are very comfortable and there were plenty of blankets. We spent a lot of time enjoying the beautiful deck. The location is so great since it is near the park and the lakes, where we swam, kayaked, and hiked. It was great having dinner on the deck and we also enjoyed the well positioned fire ring. We will definitely be back and recommend it to friends and relatives. Thank you for a wonderful vacation.
My husband and I celebrated our 40th anniversary with a trip to the San Juan Islands and Olympic National Park. We stayed a week at Island Myth and pictures cannot capture the magnificence of the stunning view. The decor was lovely--special touches throughout, huge windows, beamed ceilings, comfy bed and furnishings. A well-equipped kitchen enabled us to have several dinners in with the best view on the island! We loved the close proximity to Moran State Park and the amazing views from the top of Mt. Constitution, hiking the trail around Mountain Lake, hiking Turtleback Preserve, and driving around the whole island. A great base to visit the other islands. Tip: Bring as much as you can of non-perishable items (we shopped at Super Walmart in Mt. Vernon) with you as groceries are very expensive on the island. We are vacation-rental owners ourselves and we were impressed with the cleanliness and care of this home.

The place gives a perfect water view. It was super relaxing to sit outside and just enjoy the view. The house is close to town, but far enough away that we felt secluded. The neighbors, however, were loud and it didnt take much for their sound to travel. Especially at night. The house itself was in good condition except that there werent any extra towels. Luckily, we brought our own. It was also hot and there was little to no airflow. Extra fans would be a good investment for the summer time.
The photos barely do justice to this lovely vacation rental. We had all the amenities that we wanted, an incredible view, and a location that was very convenient to everything we wanted to do. The only bummer was that we had to leave. Would definitely recommend!
Clean, great view, well stocked, easy to access
We loved the beautiful home base to explore Orcas. It was great to go on hikes or Eastsound. On a particularly rainy day it was great to see out the giant windows while our kids played in this very comfortable and clean cabin. The beds were great and our kids loved the loft!
Thank you for this wonderful review of Island Myth. It is such a charming home in a beautiful location and we are so glad your family enjoyed the stay! We look forward to welcoming you again to one of our beautiful vacation rental homes in the San Juan Islands.

Beautiful clean house with amazing views in a good location. However, there were some issues. One of the main reasons we selected this house was because of the outdoor options. The photos show multiple seating areas on the amazing deck and in the yard. There was not a single chair outside for us to sit and enjoy the views. We had to either stand up or sit on the steps when we were outside. Not ideal. I called and was told the chairs were in the locked garage. Sorry! This was a huge disappointment. Next, the thermostat was set to 55 and the house was freezing when we arrived. It took forever for the house to warm up. They knew we were coming but it was not a 'warm welcome'. Also, the instructions were conflicting from getting into the house to the wifi password. One set of documents had different information than the other. After some time we figured it out but it was frustrating after a long day of travel. I don't like to complain but, all of our issues could have been easily remedied and without cost involved. It didn't seem like they were prepared for guests. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this house. Perhaps you need to call ahead and let them know if you'd like to sit on the deck though.
Thank you for your stay with NW Island Escapes. It is unfortunate that your arrival to this home was not what you had hoped for. The outdoor furniture for this home was placed inside the garage due to a storm that included heavy rains and a high wind warning. When you called with the request for the furniture to be placed outside, this was explained to you. it was also explained that the furniture would be placed out as soon as the winds subsided.
Incredible views. Comfortable House. Fires indoors and out. Really great family weekend away. Loved it.
We are so happy you had a nice time at Island Myth and your visit to Orcas Island. Please do come back and visit us again.
Sincerely, NW Island Escapes
A fine experience with the peace and quiet we were looking for.
Thank you for your nice review for Island Myth. We do look forward to welcoming you again to the San Juan Islands in the future!

We stayed for a week for our honeymoon and it was a wonderful house for the occasion. The deck and huge windows in the living room were the best parts; we had many meals enjoying the incredible views from the property. We did see a few too many spiders in the house for our comfort, but being in such a wooded area this is probably not uncommon. This was a great place to stay on Orcas and I would definitely recommend the home and booking with this company.
My wife and I stayed nine nights here. We've stayed at many properties in the islands over the years, and this was the quietest of all. Perfect for two adults and a small child or two. Nice view of the Sound.
This home was hands down exactly what we were looking for! We celebrated our 16th anniversary and this home provided the kind of healing quiet relaxation we were needing. Every morning we woke to a beautiful view from the large open windows in the main space of the home. We sat on the wooden chairs overlooking the bay and saw a whale spout. We made many meals in the kitchen and enjoyed the BBQ and deck space, sun lounging in the reclining chairs. The master bed was very comfortable. The home was clean and the location is perfect. Right next to all the best parts of Orcas Island: Moran State Park, Rosario Resort, where we enjoyed an amazing dinner and booked a massage at their spa. This was a beautiful weekend in a beautiful home.
This was a perfect vacation property for our family of 4 with 2 small children (ages 6 and 8). The location was really convenient - close to the park, Rosarios and a short drive into town. The house itself is freshly updated, impeccably clean and beautifully furnished. The views are incredible so even when we werent out exploring the island we still got to enjoy the beauty of the island! I highly recommend this property for smaller families (my kids loved having their own little bunk room) or groups. The pictures really didnt do it justice.
