If you are looking for a getaway that offers the ultimate in peace and privacy, look no further than Purdue Lakeside Retreat. This cozy cottage is nestled into the trees high atop Buck Mountain. The secluded and tranquil location is so quiet that the only sounds you will hear are the symphony of bird songs ringing through the forest. Once you settle into this blissful slice of heaven, you won’t want to leave!

New Hot Tub just installed. Should be operational by October 10. Pictures coming.

The cottage includes two buildings, each sporting a bedroom with a queen size bed and 3/4 bathroom. Step inside the main room of the primary building where the fully equipped kitchen includes everything you need to prepare meals sourced from the excellent local grocery stores and farmer’s market. At the other end of the room, grab a book from the shelf and kick back in the recliner for a good read. Though it gets chilly at the top of the mountain year-round, you can take the chill off the room with the freestanding propane stove.

Despite its remote location, high-speed internet service is available to support your browsing and streaming needs. The bedroom in the primary building is equipped with a desk and a television for those times when you want to be connected to the outside world.

Step outside and walk across the deck to the other building where you will find a second bedroom and en suite bathroom providing private sleeping quarters for couples or families who are traveling together.

Out on the deck, relax on the glider with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine while enjoying a lovely, filtered view of Purdue Lake. When it’s time for dinner, fire up the grill and enjoy a meal on the deck.

This unique property is well-suited for two couples or two small families traveling together. Bedding is provided for the full size futon in the living area of the primary building. Families traveling with children should keep in mind the separate locations of the bedrooms when considering sleeping arrangements. Put this one on your list for quiet rentals this summer. Because it is new to the program, you can be among the first to enjoy this brand new home.

Wonderful Week

Vacation Date: September 19, 2023

"We had a wonderful week at Purdue Lake Retreat. The cottage is very comfortable and the gas stove creates a nice, warm and cozy ambiance. The setting is so quiet and peaceful and we saw deer every time we left or took a walk. The cottage is well appointed with everything we needed and the separate bedroom and bath was perfect for two couples. Orcas Island was a lot of fun,with hiking and riding the ferry, and Purdue Lake Retreat was a great home base to explore the islands.

Wonderful Stay at Purdue Lakeside Retreat

"We recently had a terrific stay at Purdue Lakeside Retreat. On our way to the property I had a question for the Management Company and they immediately responded to my voicemail and followed up with an email. As we drove up the driveway we loved seeing all the wildflowers. The cabin is beautiful, very clean and well appointed. The owners thought of everything. The beds are super comfortable. We cooked all our meals here except one night. The kitchen had everything we needed. Our dinner out was in Eastsound, which is very close and has a great variety of restaurants. During our stay we hiked both Mt Constitution and Cascade Lake and also visited galleries and Orcas Island Pottery. But the best part of visit was relaxing at the cabin. It is incredibly quiet and peaceful. Coffee on the beautiful deck over looking the lake was perfect! If you are looking for a lovely spot to unwind, Lake Purdue Retreat is the place!
