Aurora House provides guests with the perfect blend of coziness and spaciousness - an indoor and outdoor retreat set on a waterfront bluff with sprawling views off Orcas Island’s coveted north shore. Sit by the fire in the sizeable living room, with vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows, watching the excitement of weather, boats, birds, marine mammals, and outer-island escapes. Or spend your days down the relaxing trail right next door where a private beach accessible only to neighborhood residents awaits – this beach is known by the lucky few to be one of the most beautiful and private beaches on the island.

Back at the house, the waterfront hot tub, open kitchen and expansive deck ensure a relaxing getaway in every way possible. Inside, in addition to the first floor living room, this home provides two downstairs bedrooms, one with outside direct deck access and a comfortable queen size bed. The other room has a bunk bed arrangement with a full bed on the bottom and twin on top. These bedrooms share a downstairs bathroom that also serves as the guest bathroom.

A cozy and well-lit family room at the back of the house provides the perfect den for watching movies, soaking up the sun under the solarium-style windows, and getting away from it all with your favorite book. The laundry room is conveniently tucked away in a closet on the first floor near the kitchen.

Speaking of the kitchen, this easy-to-use space has all the amenities to entertain and cook for a large family gathering. Serve your family and friends at the kitchen bar, dining table, or the lounging deck with plentiful furniture that is just steps away from the cooking area.

Upstairs is the master bedroom loft with a queen size bed, master bathroom and more views of neighboring islands and even Canada. The warm, woody feeling throughout this house, coupled with the peace of the surrounding forest and sea, provide ultimate tranquility. Aurora House provides excellent privacy from neighbors and such a gracious environment to enjoy wonderful Orcas Island.

Big view, spacious higher end home, and SUPER clean. Good value for this nice home in a good location.

"This is a lovely spacious house with a full view and good design suitable for up to 6 guests. Location is NE corner of Orcas only 15 minutes to town. Roads are good taking you off the beaten track to a small neighborhood. House has a well equipped kitchen, we prepared most of our meals over the four day stay which is nice in the off season as early in the week most restaurants are closed. This house is squeaky clean including the lovely hot tub. Hosts at NW Vacations are super responsive and gracious. There is a nice trail taking you down to a private beach. We were there off season but still nice to walk down there to take in the ambiance. Highly recommend.

"The pictures don’t do this place justice. We spent 6 days here with our 2 teens. Top to bottom, it’s one of the best places we’ve ever rented. Views were one in a million, the house has tons of room, comfortable seating and beds, fully stocked kitchen, and a wonderful hot tub! Want to cue the deer? They show up and prance through the yard daily. This area and house is a gem. We loved Orcas Island! One quick note: the house doesn’t have AC so open windows was essential to keep it cool.

Quiet and Removed

Vacation Date: March 1, 2022

This was about 20 minutes from the Ferry dock. The road seems isolated and we wondered at first if we had gone too far or taken a wrong turn. We passed wild turkeys on our drive and a waterfall! As other reviewers described, there were neighbors but we never heard them or saw them, a very peaceful and quiet place. Just a short walk down the road, there is a trail that leads down to a beach. It was a beautiful sunset walk! The house was very clean and well-stocked. The hot tub on the deck was our favorite morning spot. This is a great house to rent, if you want a chill vacation.

Secluded Island Home

Vacation Date: November 1, 2020

We stayed at this property for two nights and did remote work /school with a bit of leisure time. The property was close to Moran state park and a short drive into Eastsound. We made good use of the deck and enjoyed stargazing from the hot tub at night. The house is close to the water but there is no beach access from the property.

Wonderful Island Escape

We were looking for a place to get away during Thanksgiving since my kids were very sad to not be able to have our traditional time with grandma. The location is great with a beautiful and peaceful view. There were houses near by but it was a very quiet neighborhood. The hot tub on the deck with that view were AMAZING! We also really enjoyed the loft and wood stove. It felt clean and safe. The property was well cared for. It was so relaxing and just what we needed to get away. My son is doing extra chores to earn money so we can go back!
